“小黄”是我们依着最朴素的直觉，为这只游走在校园中的流浪狗（现已不是）所起的非正式名字。它总是在校园里固定的几个角落出入，很长一段时间里，我们与它之间维系着一种无声的默契——不论它是否现身，我们总会为它备好粮食。

每次相遇，小黄在见到我们时总会奋力地摇起尾巴，也会躺下露出肚皮任由人抚摸，像是温柔的回馈。那时候我们没有记录下很多动态影像，就用一台四格相机，把时间收束在一格一格的底片之中。《小黄书 XIAOHUANG‘s BOOK》攫取了其中一些底片汇集而成。

"Xiao Huang" was the simple, intuitive name we gave to this once-stray dog who roamed our campus. He had his regular routes and haunts. For a long time, we shared a silent understanding: we would always leave food for him, whether he showed up or not.

In return, he would greet us with enthusiastically wagging tail and roll over to expose his belly for a rub. We didn't take videos or live photos. Instead, we used a four-frame camera, compressing moments into single exposures, one after another. XIAOHUANG‘s BOOK gathers a selection of these frames.
